Working out : a trend or necessity ?

The pandemic and era of lockdown saw a rise in the fitness trends, a surge in the home workout space and a wave of fitness creators . And after the pandemic took a backseat , hitting the gym took the front wheel in the majority population’s life.

Binge eating and almost no physical activity altered lifestyles and overall physical health of an average person all around the globe. With no other mode of physical communication the wave of being fit and healthy spread through social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and even YouTube.

Some creators decided to speak out about their unhealthy lifestyle changes and some other creators took to social media to show changes they have made to live a healthier life in this time of absolute devastation, that was COVID-19 .

This high tide like wave of being physically healthy and mentally sane made each one of us get ourselves out of a  ‘Rut ‘ and of our comfort zones .

Now that the pandemic is sort of history, why is the fitness industry still booming? Is it the image we portray socially or does fitness really have a place in our everyday life?

Personally I am divided on what I truly feel and believe. I have consistently followed  home workouts throughout the pandemic and I am still continuing my fitness journey only now it is outside the confines of my room. Realistically speaking working out has become a full- blown social media trend .

Regardless of it being a trend or not fitness should be a priority for all of us . After all health is wealth and no possession is useful if you are not in the pink of your health.

Learning what goals you have in mind for your body and what your physical capacities are, can ease the pressure of ego lifting and looking the best within a week of working out. Rather mindfully showing consistency in your fitness journey & promoting the same mindset.

Well, to sum up this pile of questions I have thrown at the readers, it really is something to think about.  Fitting in, following trends and having insta worthy hobbies can feel a lot less miserable if they help you achieve your physical goals or even just keep you FIT.
